As Qualitest Canada’s Inspectors are always cautious with coarse grain SS materials, they use refracted Long waves to permit adequate penetration of the sound beam into the weldments. Ideally, our inspectors do practice and calibrate the specific dual longitudinal probes with a welded joint with drilled holes on the similar material. Also they always use the lower frequency probes i.e 1MHZ or 2MHZ.
